McCormick-Armstrong In $10 Million Plant Expansion; Customized Press First For North America
McCormick-Armstrong Co., Inc., a national commercial printing, direct mail and fulfillment company, has announced a $10 million capital investment program to expand its Wichita, Kansas plant. The company will add a new five-unit Goss M-600C web offset press, plus an array of state-of-the-art pre-press technology and specialized bindery and polybagging equipment. When completed, McCormick-Armstrong expects to be more competitive regionally and nationally for both web and sheet-fed printing, as well as for direct mail and distribution services, according to Jake Shaffer, president and CEO.
“The automation of the new M-600C technology and the addition of new pre-press and bindery components allows McCormick-Armstrong to be far more competitive for customers needing medium- and short-run commercial printing,†Shaffer said. “The quality of this new press is absolutely superior: at 395 line screen (running stochastic), it exceeds the quality of traditional sheet-fed presses geared for shorter printing runs. So in addition to handling the million-piece runs, McCormick-Armstrong can now excel at much shorter print runs and meet quick turnaround times for production.â€
McCormick-Armstrong’s Goss M-600C has custom-configured inline features that will make it the only fully automated press of its kind in North America.
It is expected to be fully operational, and licensed to meet the printing industry’s stringent Gracol 7 standards by June 9, 2008.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Unique Outreach brings Broadway to Northwest Wichita
A FREE night of family fun comes your way this summer as Ascension Lutheran Church presents Annie Jr. June 13th and 14th at Wichita Northwest High School. Over thirty area students, ages 4-16, have been rehearsing three days a week since April learning more about the art of performance and skills that will grow them into prominent members of society. This is sure to be a wonderful production and an amazing gift to the community.
Vicar Jeremy Davis directs the production and was the visionary for the project. “I wanted to do a special outreach to the community and with my theater background I thought this was the perfect match”. Annie Jr. is the show we all know and love, but is condensed by the writers from a two and a half hour production to a more kid-friendly one hour. The production is free, but requires attendees to reserve tickets to ensure a seat for the two shows. The productions will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, June 13th and Saturday, June 14th in the Northwest High School auditorium. Tickets can be reserved by emailing anniejrtickets@hotmail.com or calling (316)440-3194. Remaining tickets will be available at the door on a first come first serve basis.
Ascension Lutheran Church is a unique two-site ministry with the Ascension Lutheran Preschool at the Tyler Campus and the Open Arms Childcare at the Maple Campus.
